Perigueux: Bustling and Filled with History

Perigueux as a city forms the center of the region as a whole and has around 40,000 residents. It has two distinctive areas, each offering a different taste of the country but both must sees on a holiday to a family villa in France.

The old quarter of the city is quiet and sedate and is ideal for a simple stroll. Visitors should make sure they head down the Rue Limogeanne, the main street which runs all though the historical part of town and can take them past all the sights. 

As a city, Perigueux has 39 historical sites of importance and there are also four museums, which make it a perfect place for those who love nothing more than walking round, guidebook in hand, while on a break.

As well as this, there are two Unesco World Heritage Sites outside the city, the area around Les Eyzies and the Lascaux Caves.
